Mariko-shuku

"A museum without a roof." Local history fans liken Mariko-shuku to this. Historical resources are also scattered in the mountains a short distance from the post town. You can enjoy walking around the town along with the post town street where the "store name" used at that time is hung on the eaves. It is also an area that accepts new initiatives that take advantage of the old, such as guest houses that utilize old Japanese houses. It aims to be a post town where visitors and residents can enjoy nature and history while valuing human connections.

Chojiya LLC

Founded in 1596, this long-established store of tororo, grated yam soup was depicted in Utagawa Hiroshige's ukiyo-e. You will slip back in time to the world of ukiyo-e once you step inside the store. You can taste the tororo soup as if you were a traveler in the Edo Period.
Along with the history of Tokaido Mariko-shuku, the store has been carrying out activities that connect the culture that has been passed down over 400 years to the future.
