To this day, foreign ships come and go to Shimizu Pork, where Ejiri-shuku is located. Ejiri is an inn built on a sandbar formed by the Tomoe River, indicating the bottom (downstream) of the Tomoe River. It is now an exotic bayside bustling with locals and tourists. If you spend the night relaxing while watching the sea, you can discover a different face of the city from the daytime.

You can see how Jirocho Shimizu spent his last years working to revitalize Shimizu Port at Shipping Agent “Suehiro.” It is a valuable building that conveys the state of Jirocho and Shimizu Port, which lived his life to the fullest from the end of the Edo Period to the Meiji Period.
